Our Cherry Chocolate Power Shake
A creamy texture is essential for creating the perfect breakfast smoothie. Although you may assume dairy products are required for that “creamy” texture – there are plenty of non-dairy options to get that richness we want! In this recipe, we use cashews. Cashews are naturally rich, creamy, and fatty – making them a perfect fit for a dairy free smoothie. When soaked, cashews soften, and can be easily blended into soups, sauces, and smoothies. Therefore, they can be a great fatty dairy-free replacement for whipping cream or cream cheese. This recipe certainly gets its rich and creamy texture from using a handful of cashews – and we love the difference they can make!
