Malvina is not only a loyal reader but one of the dedicated volunteer moderators for our thriving Facebook Community. She has been practicing AH for many years. The truth, gentleness and inspiration of her story and note to the community touched me so deeply that I turned it into a short blog post for you. She captures what the ALWAYS HUNGRY Program is all about especially as we embark on a new year. This short note says it all….

“Gentle Readers — many of you negotiated this difficult holiday season with grace and finesse, staying on plan and feeling great. Kudos to you! You are awesome, and I salute you!
Then there are others (and I count myself in this second group) who did not do so well. We slipped down the slippery slope, we succumbed to the lure of the Phase 3 field trip. You know what? You are also awesome, and I salute you too. Why? Because you are still here, and you are reading this message.
Now you need to do something hard — forgive yourself! You are not a bad person, and there is nothing wrong with you. Whatever happened is in the past, and it doesn’t matter. No one is keeping track, and no one cares. So pat yourself on the back for making it through the holidays, and step back on plan — you are only one meal away. Happy new year!”
